Today is Thanks Giving Day in the United States. It is the day we have chosen to focus on the bounty all around us. It is the day when we give thanks for friends and family and country.
We have challenges. Yes, we do have challenges. Focusing only on them often makes for a frustating unhappy time. I remember a story that Zig Ziglar has told for years. I first heard it at the Sequoia Athletic Club, in Buena Park 15-20 years ago. A Woman sought him out after he spoke one night. She asked for his help because she was miserable, was unhappy at her job, and felt unliked by those around her.
Zig suggested she make a list of everything that was good in her life. She could come up with nothing so Zig started asking her questions. Do you get free parking at work? Yes. Is work air conditioned and heated? Yes. So it continued and they parted.
Months later she had done this work everyday for herself. She saw Zig again. He asked her how she was. She said she was great. Everything had changed for the better. She was happy, liked her job,
and everyone wanted to be her friend. She had changed her perception by focusing on gratitude. Then reality had changed to conform to her expectations. A powerful story.
So, today lets focus on gratitude, maybe even listen to the Gratitude Call TeleSeminar recording you see to the right. This is a resource you can come back to any time you want to this next year. Writing in the box what you appreciate to help others begin the transforming.
Warmest Regards,
Edward Philipp
